Anyone who knows Westies knows that they pick YOU, you don't pick THEM. My little guy was by my side after cancer treatments . And he was anxious when I left home for a bit and was gloriously happy when I came home.

Just before his sixteenth birthday he kept fainting after the least amount of exertion, Dr. Raines told and showed us how enlarged his heart had become and it would not be long before he would leave us. She gave us different scenarios of how this could happen. I began to pray to my Lord who loves all creatures great and small, that my little white best friend would go very easy and not have to suffer. Several times the following week Wes tried to succumb but I masssged and talked to him and brought him back. On a cold Thursday morning as I was preparing for work.. his little head popped up from his favorite blanket. and he cocked his head and gave me kisses. As I look back, I would like to think he was telling me good- bye.

Love this place! Not fancy and pretentious, but great Vets who care. They're always courteous and treat my scary 80lb pup like the big baby she is. Great with my kitties too! Fair prices, they explain everything thoroughly and don't try to run unnecessary tests.

Amazing friendly emphatic staff and Doctor. Our recent visit was to have our two furry 4 legged babies put to sleep. They had a good long life, one was 17 the other 16, and as they went to sleep they were surrounded by love.

I could tell with each exam that Sara EdwardsDVM loved my fur baby. As he grew older Dr. McClure repaired the ligament in his right hind leg and Dr. Edwards gave him the necessary meds to keep him comfortable in advanced age.

The vets here are wonderful, and have been with us through thick and thin. Dr. Murphy is amazing, and performed knee surgery on my dog's torn ligaments. Recovery went exactly as expected, and they took great care of her. Love everything about this place. Very trustworthy.

Later that morning my husband called and said Wes was gone. He came in from outside ( we carried him in and out), and he lay down on his favorite rug, he stretched out and was gone.

Vestavia Animal Clinic took care of my beloved West Highland White Terrier for sixteen years.

Yesterday we had to make the unfortunate decision to have our sweet Kitty Cat put to sleep. After a few unsuccessful attempts through the day to reach Kitty's regular vet for advice we felt it would be better to end his suffering rather than wait another day. As it was after hours for our regular vet we were hoping to find a vet other than one of the emergency clinics. We were please to see that Vestavia Animal Clinic is open until 8 PM Monday through Thursday. We called at about a quarter to 7 PM and they told us to come on. Dr. Rains and her staff were very accommodating, caring and compassionate. Once Dr. Rains saw Kitty she agreed that we were making the right decision. We haven't been through this before so she explained the process and what Kitty would experience. Despite the late hour they allowed us as much time with Kitty as we wanted and at no point did we feel rushed. While there is no way to make the experience of losing a pet easier we greatly appreciate the compassion that Dr. Rains and VAC showed us. We will now be using them for all of our pet care needs.

Now we have adopted another pup from the humane Society. She is half Westie and Half Jsck Russell Terrier. She was two in May. She loves her Toys and carries one in her mouth all day long. She is a beautiful bundle of energy!

I thank. God that Wes left us in an easy gentle way. He deserved that. To me it is not a coincidence that DOG spelled backward is God.

I recommend them to everyone!

In closing, I will continue to trust VAC to care for Lizzie. They are all pet lovers.

When I boarded my boyWesley when he was quite old, Dr. Edwards put him in the quiet part of the kennel so he was kept calm.
